This website will host a blog and other conversation tools soon. I have been involved with various aspects of IT over the past 15 years, most recently designing databases for Business Intelligence. I want to explore ways to leverage the information resources in a company that won't overload its partners and employees with reports and meaningless statistics.
My approach ties together information design and communication. Business Intelligence is more than building a Data Warehouse or an Executive Dashboard. It means discovering the underlying reason to measure a organization’s activities. Each piece of data collected represents an interaction between a company and its customers or partners. For that reason, every piece of information extracted should give people a reason to do something to further those relationships.
What's with the name? A chuck wrench is a tool to adjust the bit on a drill. It's how you ensure that all the power you have is being used well.
